Shocks & Struts

Our Shocks and Struts Services Ensure Your Vehicle Suspension System Functions Properly

Complete Strut Service for Your Vehicle

Strut Assembly

The struts are part of your vehicle’s suspension system. They are attached to the front wheels to absorb the shock from bumpy and uneven roads.

After enough time and travel passes, the strut assemblies can begin to leak gas and/or other fluid. When they become worn, the tires can also wear out prematurely.

If you’re experiencing excessively bumpy rides in your vehicle lately, bring it to Atlas Car Care & Tire Center. We’ll check the status of your strut assemblies and replace them if need be. We want you to always have smooth travel!

Strut Cartridges

You’ll find strut cartridges in vehicles with re-buildable strut systems. If the ones in your vehicle ever need replacing, count on Atlas Car Care & Tire Center to perform the work. Our prices are extremely affordable, and you can always expect to receive a very high level of customer service.

Choosing the Right Shocks for Your Vehicle

Standard Shocks

In general, but not always, vehicles that were manufactured before 1995 will have shocks in the suspension system. Vehicles manufactured after that year typically have struts.

When considering what type of shock to use, consider your driving style and habits. Do you tow heavy loads frequently? Do you travel along unpaved roads a lot? If the answer to either of these questions is no, you’ll probably be fine with standard shocks. However, the staff at Atlas Car Care & Tire Center can help you decide on the best choice for your vehicle.

Premium Shocks

If you’d prefer a smoother and firmer ride in your vehicle, you may want to consider purchasing and installing premium shocks. Now we know what you’re thinking; many people see the word “premium” and think of it as a fancy term for something that is overly expensive. However, spending a little bit more money now can possibly save you a bundle in replacement costs down the road. If you drive along rough, uneven roads frequently, standard shocks are simply not going to last you that long. Instead of replacing them more often, a set of premium shocks will last you much longer!

Truck/SUV Shocks

Obviously, the shocks on a truck or SUV are naturally more heavy-duty because the vehicle is larger. Also, many trucks and SUVs are equipped with four-wheel drive. Therefore, the shocks must be larger since there is more heat from the axle and body’s motions to absorb and dissipate.

However, there are some SUVs that are meant to drive and feel more like a car than a truck. Therefore, many of them have suspension systems that are more similar to a car rather than a truck. If you’re unsure as to what type of shocks your truck or SUV needs, just call Atlas Car Care & Tire Center. We’re always happy to help you out!
